Long Time No See

Hey, it's been a while. A mix of work, life and doing a show at the community theatre downtown has made it super hard to post. However, now that the show is over, I'm leaving my job in the next few days, and life has cooled down a little, I will be making a more conscious effort to post more and more regularly. Unfortunately, like my summer job, the summer is coming to a close and I'll be moving back to the school dorms where I'll be unable to bring either pet, or any pet at all for that matter. As you might have guessed, that makes it hard to write about Charlie and Coco. Right now I'm not sure what I'll do but for now I'm going to keep writing about them including everything that I haven't written about for the last month or two, starting with this little gem from just now:

Charlie: Michael, why are we out here?
Me:       So you can use the bathroom but all you've done is find a squirrel and try to pee on it. Meanwhile, I have work in a bit so unless you can hold it you need to go now cause you wont get a chance once I go to work till morning.
Charlie: But I don't have to, Michael.
Me:       BUT YOU SAID YOU DID! THAT'S WHY WE'RE OUT HERE!
Charlie: ......I changed my mind.
Me:       *deep inhale* Ok, then we'll go back in, but you know I can't come home in the middle of my shift to walk you, right?
Charlie: Yep!

We both walk back home, and as I unlock the door:

Charlie: Um, Michael?
Me:        I know Charlie, we're almost in side.
Charlie: No, I changed my mind again. *gets ready to squat*
Me:       CHARLIE, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I should be able to post more in the next few days, both events that happened a while ago and ones that just happened.

A Wild Coco Appears

I feel slightly nostalgic today so this post will be in a Pokemon-esk format:

*start "encounter" music, end "encounter" music and start "fight" music*
A wild Coco appears!
Item> Dr Pepper> Use> Michael
Wild Coco used Sneak! Wild Coco's Evasiveness and Speed rise!
Michael used a Dr Pepper! Michael regains health!
Item> Hot Dog> Use> Michael
Wild Coco used Bite against Hot Dog! Coco regains health!
Game paused> Rewriting Code> Change Battle Sequence "Item> Hot Dog> Use> Michael" to "Fight> Scold> Coco"> Game play
Michael used Scold! Michael says: "TOUCH MY HOT DOG AGAIN AND DIE!"
Fight> Pursue> Coco
Wild Coco ran away.
Michael used Pursue! ITS SUPER EFFECTIVE! Critical Hit!
Wild Coco fainted!
*end "fight" music and start "victory" music*
Michael gains 76 Exp Points!
Game paused> Rewriting Code> Change Exp Points "76" to "9999"> Game play

Okay, so the "rewriting code" wasn't really part of the Pokemon experience but can you imagine if it was? :D

I Don't Understand

Me:       *taking break from working on a song for musical* Coco, where is Charlie?
Coco:     I *yawn* don't know, you could look for him. You have legs don't you?
Me:       Oh go back to sleep you. *looks around for Charlie and eventually finds him on Danni's bed*
Charlie: She left me again, Michael. I don't understand, I thought she loved me.
Me:       She does love you Charlie. She just left to print something off at the school, she'll be back soon.
Charlie: THATS WHAT YOU SAID LAST TIME!
Me:        And I was right. Soon is a relative.
Charlie: I just woke up and she was gone. I miss her.
Coco:     *from the other room* SHUT UP! YOU KNOW NOTHING OF MISSING HER!

Feed Me

Today when I walked in from work with a corn-dog in my hand I was greeted by Charlie and Coco almost instantly.

Charlie: HEY! IS THAT FOOD?
Me:       Yes, but its Michael food, not pet food.
Coco:     It sure does look good though.
Charlie: JUST A BITE PLEASE?!? THAT IS ALL WE'LL EAT!
Me:       Yes but a bite for each of you is the whole thing.
Coco:     But we're soooooo hungry.
Charlie: SO HUNGRY!
Coco:     We haven't eaten all day!
Charlie: ALL DAY!
Me:        False, Danni fed both of you this morning.
Coco:     ......PLEASE!!!!!!!

Memorial Day

Me:       *opens door to find Danni, Charlie, and Coco watching a Batman marathon* Hey guys, how's your Memorial Day going?
Danni:   Not much, I got the last few Batman movies.
Charlie: WE HAVE BEEN WATCHING THE BOX!
Coco:     Its called a TV, stupid. What makes today so different than another day anyways?
Me:       Its the day we remember everyone who has served to protect us and our country.
Charlie: LIKE BATMAN?!?!
Coco:     I was thinking Commissioner Gordon.
Me:       Well ya, you're both kinda right. If you think about it, veterans and active duty members of the armed forces are real life super heroes. Most of them don't wear capes though I don't think.
Coco:     Or spandex underwear.

From Charlie, Coco, Danni, and myself: a very grateful thank you to everyone who has and is serving this nation. You are our Batmen.

I Miss You

Coco:    *paws at Shandi's closed door* Hey Michael, have you seen Shandi?
Me:       Ya, she just went home.
Coco:     ....She left home to go ...home? So why isn't she here?
Me:       No, home as in where her family is, where the rest of your family is. She wants to be with them for Memorial Day.
Coco:    Oh, well when will she be back?
Me:       Either tomorrow or Tuesday.
Coco:    Oh ....but I didn't get to see her off. *goes to window* Who will she yell at to show she loves them?
Me:       Her brothers probably.
Coco:    Who will wake her up to make sure she is still alive and able to feed me?
Me:       Her sister.
Coco:     Who will she pick up to scold one minute and then cuddle with the next?
Me:        I don't know Coco. But its going to be okay, she'll be back soon.
Coco:     Good, cause its soon now. *scratches at Shandi's door*
Me:        Not that soon. She isn't a Time Lord.
Coco:     Oh .....*curls at in my lap* I guess I just miss her. Between messing with all her stuff and sleeping, I don't tell her how much I love her as much as I would like to. *enter Charlie*
Charlie: PSSSSST, MICHAEL? IS COCO SAD?
Coco:     BOB SAGET, CHARLIE!! I WAS HAVING A MOMENT AND YOU RUINED IT! *runs to and lays in front of Shandi's door*
Charlie: .........Was it something I said?

So Happy

Me:       *opens door coming back from a day at work* Hey I'm ho-
Charlie: OH GOD! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH! I WAS SO ALONE BUT NOW YOU ARE BACK AND I AM SO HAPPY!
Me:       I'm happy to see you too. Wait, alone? Where is Coco?
Charlie: I AM SO SO HAPPY YOU ARE BACK!
Me:       Me too, Charlie. Where is Coco?
Charlie: THE CAT? HE IS ALSO HAPPY YOU ARE BACK! SEE?!? HE IS RIGHT---wait, where is he?
Me:       That's what I said!
Coco:    *from behind my bed* I'm hiding from you idiots.
